Plantation Drive

The Plantation Drive was a community-focused sustainability initiative led by ACM HITMS to expand the campus's green cover while cultivating environmental responsibility among students and staff. The event combined hands-on tree planting with brief educational sessions on ecology and long-term care.

Goals

• Increase biodiversity, shade, and aesthetic value across the HITMS campus.
• Train student volunteers in proper planting techniques, watering schedules, and basic tree maintenance.
• Foster a long-term culture of environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.

What Attendees Experienced

• All tools, saplings, and planting materials were provided by the organizers.
• Live demonstrations on correct planting depth, spacing, and post-planting care routines.
• A safety briefing followed by light refreshments to keep volunteers energized throughout the drive.

Volunteers were encouraged to participate in teams; organizers mapped each planting location and scheduled follow-up care visits to ensure every sapling received the attention it needed to thrive.
